What they do

Each filter pairs activated carbon with a soft sponge layer. The sponge catches hair, food bits and debris, while the carbon helps remove tastes and odours, so the water stays clean and appealing to drink. Fresh filters are also what stop a fountain from turning into a slimy bowl, so they matter more than most people think.

How often to change them

As a rough guide, change the filter every two to four weeks, sooner if you have several pets or you notice the flow slowing down or any smell. This pack of four covers you for roughly two to four months.
