A word from Mika, four-legged founder.
Hello, I'm Mika. This shop is mine. Well, my human handles the boxes and the payments, but every pick gets my approval. In my own way.
I have a confession: I'm a sensitive cat. At my age, one sharp noise, one toy rushing at me without warning, and I'm under the couch for the rest of the day. Yet the very toy that terrifies me can make another cat wild with joy. I've watched kittens throw themselves at noisy contraptions I wouldn't even look at.
It made me think of you humans and your video games. They're all fine games, but nobody likes the same ones. Some of you love adrenaline, pressure and jump scares. Others hate all that and would rather think quietly and take their time. You would never call a game "bad" just because it isn't made for you. It's simply made for someone else.
For us cats, it's exactly the same. It all depends on our character, our age, our story. A curious kitten discovering the world fears almost nothing. A rescued cat who has been through hard times jumps at the slightest racket, and I know a thing or two about that. A born hunter needs action and prey that runs; a quiet cat prefers to play at his own pace.
That's why, in my shop, no toy is labeled "good" or "bad". Every product gets a rating for the cat profile it suits best: the fearless kitten, the easygoing cat, the tireless hunter, or a sensitive soul like me. You're not looking for "the best toy". You're looking for the right toy for YOUR cat. And that's my job.
Look for the little paws 🐾 on every product page: they tell you who a toy is made for. Choose for your companion's personality, not for what's trendy this month.
Purr,
Mika
How I score every toy 🐾
Here is what the little paws on each product page really mean, so you can read them in a second.
The four cat profiles
- 🍼 Kittens: young, fearless, into everything. They wear out toys and themselves.
- 😺 Easy-going cats: happy, balanced cats who play for the fun of it.
- 🦁 Hunters: high energy, they need prey that runs and a real chase.
- 🙉 Sensitive cats: shy, older or rescued souls like me. Calm and quiet, no surprises.
The paws 🐾
Every toy gets one to five paws for each profile. Five paws means a perfect match for that kind of cat. A single faded paw means it is probably not their toy. Same toy, different score, depending on who is playing.
The noise level
A sudden racket can send a sensitive cat under the couch for the whole day, so every toy also gets a sound tag:
- 🔇 Quiet: safe for shy and easily startled cats.
- 🔉 Moderate noise: some sound, fine for most cats.
- 🔊 Loud: a blast for bold hunters, not for nervous types.
Choose for your cat's character, and the right toy almost picks itself.
